People Manager, EMEA

United Kingdom

Full Time, Perm
Hybrid

HUMN is partnering with a fast-growing global technology business to find their next People Manager, EMEA.

This is a hands-on regional leadership role with ownership of People across EMEA, joining the business at an important point in its growth and helping shape a modern, tech-forward People function.

Why this role exists

Our client is a global technology business with several hundred people across multiple countries and growing quickly. Built through multiple acquisitions, the business is now rewriting its playbook as it enters its next phase of growth.

The systems, structures, and standards this next chapter runs on are being written. You'll be one of the people writing them.

You will own all things People for the EMEA region as the business continues its expansion.

Right now, that population is supported by processes that were designed for smaller, simpler companies. Your job is to run the region while you change that - elevating and centralising fragmented ways of working, leveraging AI to automate workflows, and helping shape what a modern, tech-forward People function looks like.

What you'll own

Run the region

  • Own the full employee lifecycle across EMEA: recruitment, onboarding, performance, development, employee relations, total rewards, mobility, offboarding.

  • Stay on top of employment law across complex jurisdictions and leverage that knowledge to help us act at speed while staying compliant.

Standardise and centralise

  • Build the processes, ways of working and documentation that don’t currently exist.

  • Lead integration across your region: harmonising terms, systems, policies, and ways of working for your population.

Uplevel the function

  • You'll help shape the People agenda, owning and contributing to global initiatives. These include manager capability, performance management, levelling and role definition, pay-for-performance design, and global onboarding.

  • Build the systems, processes, and culture that help people do their best work, enabling and recognising strong performance and addressing underperformance early and fairly.

  • Equip managers to effectively nurture and manage performance in their teams.

  • Help hire and develop an EMEA People Coordinator to support you with the day-to-day.

About you
  • Multi-country EMEA People Ops or HR generalist experience, including at least one period of significant growth, integration, or change.

  • Working knowledge of UK employment law, plus practical experience across two or three European countries. Where you don't know, you know how to find out fast, who to ask, when to bring in counsel.

  • Commercially minded and comfortable partnering across Legal, Finance, and business leadership. You think in business terms (cost, risk, impact), not just policy terms.

  • Automation-first instincts. You've used AI and data to eliminate manual work, build more efficient People Ops workflows, and inform better decisions.

  • You've run complex, high-risk employee relations cases.

  • Self-directed and comfortable with ambiguity - equally at home in strategic and transactional work and energised by building things that don't exist yet.

  • You understand that performance management is a discipline, not a form. Done well, it drives real business outcomes. You've built or run processes that deliver that, and you know how to coach and empower managers to run them without you.

What's in it for you

  • Scope and Growth: You'll build a region from the ground up: designing the systems with a real influence over the company’'s People agenda and the opportunity for global impact. As the company scales, your scope grows with it.

  • Benefits: Competitive remuneration package; Private health insurance; Pension (7% employer contribution); Life insurance; Electric vehicle scheme; Cycle to work scheme.

  • The team: Expert enough to lead the industry. Supportive enough that you'll enjoy the day-to-day.

  • Flexibility: The client has UK offices in London, Leeds, Carlisle. You can choose whether to work remotely, hybrid, or in-person.

  • Why now: You'd be joining at a pivotal time for the business with exciting growth opportunities around the corner.
